A Sorry State Of Affairs

I’m working from home this afternoon. I actually came home to look for software that I need to load onto my computer in order do some work. Well in the midst of Christmas and my perpetual inclination to procrastinate, I placed the disc on my counter and decided to come back and revisit this project at a later time. Then we decorated for Christmas, had a couple parties, threw some homework on it, ate some meals around it and now, it’s lost in the twilight zone. This is a frustrating, sorry state of affairs.

As I was looking, I realized that the house is in this strange state between Christmas and The-Cold-Dark-Period after Christmas.

The husband started taking down the Christmas tree but didn’t have time to finish it before a trip. I said, “I’ll finish it for you.” And there it stands, pathetically naked with its top off.

I looked at the tables full of ornaments and realized how many pretty ones there are. Especially of airplanes.

All the pretty, pretty, sparkly, jewels that now have my attention and keeping me from finding the disc.

Here’s an old one we’ve had for years. It’s some kind of vintage airplane.

And back there behind the Eiffel Tower is a B-52, I think. I’m not an aviation expert, I just live with one. Too bad he’s not here right now, he always finds things a lot quicker than I do. Maybe it’s because he actually looks and doesn’t get distracted as easily as you know who.

Last one…here is my collection of little German people that I said I would post once a day in December but didn’t. I guess I really do procrastinate.

I really have to find that disc. Good-bye.

  1. You could pull a “Robert” and leave your tree up all year long!!! Have fun putting Christmas away :)
