Registration for RainbowLand MEGA Week is open! As of today! Registration and volunteer opportunities fill up fast so go and register at rainbowlandweek.com now! For those of you who don’t know, each year our church has a vacation bible school that rivals any Disney attraction. Seriously.

Sometimes I try to act like an artist because I’m a wanna-be artist. So when there’s a project that lends itself to it, I jump at it. I do at times wonder if I’m over my head. I second guess myself, I make a dozen color choices and then dispose of them all. Then I get annoyed when I have to tend to my other obligations – like work and feeding my kids – because it takes me away from finding the perfect color.

It’s a good thing that the real artists do the heavy lifting. That beautiful themed art above is by Bill Bozman, video graphics by Rich Adams of the Pathos Project, flash animation by Daniel Palmer and website/registration by lil ‘ole me.The guys who worked on the art are fantastic, I mean fantastic, artists.

If you go rainbowlandweek.com, you’ll see the yellow background. That color alone took two days. And that peach/yellowish color behind the link? It took me another two days to finally settle on that, then I had to code it in and that took me…never mind. I told Daniel he better not change any colors if he knows what’s good for him.

I spent most of today getting the kinks out and I think it’s now ready for general consumption. So go sign your kids up. It’s a super fun time for them and a hugely satisfying opportunity for the volunteers.

Because I’m not all that good at this yet, it takes a long long long time. I do and redo. You get the point. This little project took most of my February brain cells (I have a finite amount for each month).  So now I think I can actually take a shower. Then I took a nap. Kiji was a great inspiration for that.

Now I’m my relaxed self again…except for my kids yelling “You’re a liar!” to each other at the top of their lungs right now. Is it against the law to spank a 14 year old?

Kiji, that’s my chair! As for the kids, a little discipline never hurt anyone, well maybe, but the hurt goes away quickly. :-0 ;-)
