Paraskevidekatriaphobia
It’s a fear of Friday the 13th. An irrational fear. This moon hung low in the sky a couple of nights ago, behind my oak tree. It is both spooky and pretty…

Shutter Sisters asked that we take a picture of something pretty today. I wanted to go to the store and buy an orchid right away.

But as the day progressed, as my duties piled up, as my laundry pile grew, I knew that I wasn’t going to the store to buy anything. My good intentions to follow the great advice of taking a break and pampering myself disappeared as soon as I finished my lunch. That was the only thing on the list that was accomplished today.

As I sit here, I have quite a few projects to finish. As soon as I’m done with this post. I like to think of it as a creative break. So in a sense I am taking care of myself.
Then instead of tea and a candle, I’m going to drink some wine and call for pizza delivery. Happy Friday the 13th everyone…

Great post… I love those photos. The spookier the better!!

Awesome – such a clear shot of the moon. Wonderfully moody. And trying to balance taking care of business with taking care of yourself? I totally understand.
thank you for the beauty in this moon…we have deep clouds with no moon in sight!
these are lovely photos!!
NEAT pictures. Very pretty.
WOW, fab captures…….I wondering HOW the dear you caught those? I tried snapping some of the moon a little while ago and NO GOOD. Can you tell me your secret?? BEAUTIFUL!!
Super awesome to meet you, glad we can hook up through I heart Faces, yay…love that place!!! Have a great night!!
Kari, I don’t have a secret. I’m playing with my camera and had it in manual mode and just tried all different settings until I found the right one. I think these were ISO 400 (I think I messed this up), F5.6, exposure 1/10, focal length 300. I went back and looked at the properties just to make sure these were right. I don’t know if this helps…thanks and I love that you love elephants!
