LOST In Oahu

A favorite show of mine is LOST. I admit I don’t watch it each week because many a times I’m not home when it’s on and I don’t know how to work the recorder. Anyway, I like the show, I’m not a loyal viewer though and when you miss a week, well, you are pretty much LOST…this is the first of many bad puns.

LOST is filmed on the windward side of Oahu and the husband would always say, “They’re not lost, they’re in Oahu. Haven’t they found the H3 yet?” Fantasy can be hard for realists like him.

When we first moved to Hawaii, we lived on the windward side in the town of Kaneohe for almost six months. To me, it’s the most beautiful part of the island. One can get LOST in it’s beauty.
But they’re not lost, there’s a McDonalds just around that bend.

If I miss a show I would watch the next one carefully and try to figure out how many time travels I’ve missed and whether Hugo has really LOST his mind or whether he is the only one who sees the events for what they are – one messed up storyline.
Anyway, it’s 4:30 am here in Hawaii and everyone is asleep but me. I’m trying to type quietly. Apparently, I’m the only one in the family with jet lag. I gave up trying to acclimate to the time change since we are leaving in a couple of days anyway. It’s a LOST cause.

This was where we lived and we called it our beach shack because it literally was a shack, no insulation or conditioning or anything of the sort.

But we woke up every morning to this view, the Koolau mountains with the morning sun shining on them.
We drove by yesterday to see the house again. It was an excuse to get my fill of the windward side. My photos do not do it justice. It makes one LOST in the moment doesn’t it?

Beautiful!
Ack! I forgot to bookmark your new site! How could I forget?! I’ve missed a lot!
Simply wonderful photos. The colors are so inviting.
Happy OW!
Wo, beuitiful shots, my kind of view.
What a beautiful place! I assume you don’t live there anymore…, maybe just for the island alone I could watch Lost…, I have actually never seen an episode.
I’ve been “lost” in the beauty of these photos…great post…
What a beautiful spot — Nature surely pulled out all the stops when she designed Hawaii.
Gorgeous!
