Lost Memories

I make scrapbooks and I have many album books and many photos, most of which I know where we were and what we were doing. I do this possibly because I don’t have many documented memories of my childhood, either written or photographic.
But every once in a while I come across some which I have no recollection of what we were doing and who is in the photo.
This one was taken in Hawaii some time. I don’t know what we were doing on a boat. And that’s the boy sleeping on my lap. That’s all I know. I still have that shirt too.

And here’s my family somewhere in Hawaii, I know that because of the shakas. Other than that. Nothing.

And here is my friend Donna with the lei on. This was in my home. That chair and that picture behind the ladies are mine. But I don’t know what the occasion was or who that lady is with Donna.
It’s a shame not to remember. It’s not because those memories aren’t important. It’s because our minds are only capable of handling just so much. This is why I make scrapbooks, it’s why I blog, it’s why I photograph my kids relentlessly.
Posted on Gayle’s Monday Memories. Sorry Gayle, no recollection today!

I’m so glad I’m not the only one! (Safety in numbers or Misery needs company–I’m not sure which!!) Have I mentioned that I love you have that tie-in to Hawaii? I’m a little jealous, but I love it!
Haha! Puna, don’t feel bad, I forgot to visit you yesterday! My mind is turning to mush!
I have scrapped since I was 13 and taken pictures with my 110 camera since I was 15 (yes…a long LONG time ago, LOL)…this is the way I like to tell my life stories!
