My Poor Flat Bottom

Question: How does one gain six pounds in two weeks?
I spent eleven hours on a flight from Hawaii to Maryland. And that doesn’t count the hours I spent on my bottom at the beach. Then I came home and sat in a chair at a barbeque for four hours. I got up once to get food, and once to get a drink. Therefore, all of my photos have a slightly unflattering angle – like I took them from a chair.

Neighbor Leigh looks really tall.

Neighbor Susan’s sexy thighs are on full display because of my wide angle lens and from the angle of my lazy chair.

This photo turned out nicely though, because Sierra and Quincy were looking down at me in my chair.
Then I spent eight hours in the car yesterday, driving the boy to camp.
I’m a mess. I’m a fitness instructor and I’m a mess.
On top of it all, I took two weeks off from my classes. I was serving in Vacation Bible School and didn’t have time, and then well, Hawaii of course. I’m a mess.
In my defense, I did go for a run before the bbq and ended up hyperventilating after a half a mile. And today I went for a run. No hyperventilation but the ankle I twisted last month started hurting. I made it exactly a half a mile. I’m a mess.
And I’m teaching yoga tomorrow for the first time in over two weeks. Lord help me. I think there is going to be a lot of the corpse pose. This doesn’t deserve to be a fitness post.
For the record, I’m a normal person who fights her weight every day. Every day. I fall off the wagon more times than I can count and I love food and I love to eat. Bad combination. And as a woman in her middle 40’s, I know what it’s like to have gravity be unkind. Or mean rather.
I’m a frustrating mess.
p.s. I just notice that Neighbor Leigh’s head is cut off on the features photos on my home page. If I had not taken it from my chair it may not look that way. What a mess I am.
