Monday Memories of Almost Drowning

brrrr…it was 54 degrees and windy today. It was overcast and the water was choppy.
It was a perfect day to go across the bay for lunch in a boat.

Both Miss Shannon and I had on our ski jackets and blankets. But at least we weren’t going to get sunburned.

I didn’t tell anyone we were going, not even the kids. What if we capsize on this choppy day and don’t make it back? Yikes. After all when I was about 10 years old, my Uncle Jim took my sister and I out on a boat and a storm came and almost capsized us. I was just recently told that Uncle Jim was a really bad sailor.
Now you tell me.
I felt confident today because I was with not one, not two but three pilots who like to keep their eyes on the weather.

As it turns out, it was great fun. There was lunch at a nice restaurant and some cruising on an inlet or two…
I don’t know what I’m doing but I promise you it’s not what it looks like.

Whatever it was, Miss Shannon feels for me.

Haha! What were you doing?!
what a day to be on the water…glad you dressed warmly ~elk
I have to admit…there is something about a boat trip like this! That looks like a good time!
The ‘now you tell me’ comment is priceless!
How fun! (although it does look a bit chilly!) Are your men pilot-pilots? (like there’s any other kind!)
Not only the men Katie, but Miss Shannon is a pilot in her own right. I’m the black sheep of the group. I like the earth:)
Ha! What were we talking about? ;o)
I think she was measuring 30 NM on a sectional.
Or something like that.
All boating days are great! Just being on the water is magic. Thanks for sharing, these are fun pics! Way to go being spontaneous.
