I knew that my friend Gavin was a talented computer geek guy and I knew that he played in a band…harmonica or something like that.
But last Saturday night, was an eye opener.
It’s easy to enjoy a show from the audience, especially one filled with such talent as the one that was I honored to attend and work at last Saturday night. But what I really like is the backstage behind the scenes stuff. And I love to watch everything that goes into theĀ making of a production. It’s great fun.

My friend Gavin was invited to play with one of the superstar acts of the show. I have seen him work magic on computers and I was in attendance when he used his gift for teaching to teach a kid’s internet safety class. But I’ve never seen him play the saxophone.

He multi-talented. He is super laid-back, really calm, very patient. And here is he waiting patiently to go on stage.

The thing is…Gavin and Little Andre met each other minutes before performing. They never rehearsed together. I was astounded. How can anyone do that? Just go on stage in front of thousands of people without ever rehearsing? I’d be having a heart attack.

But it was magic and it was perfect. And boy can he play the saxophone.
Cool.

The song was “What a Wonderful World.”

The little boy who sang it was only ten years old. It was touching, people were literally crying.

I tried to get wife and daughter in the photo too, they were kneeling in front of me but it was so dark…so I thought I’d point it out for you. They were crying too.

What a cool dad huh?

Very cool, it was such a treat to hear both of them perform.
Poor Gav wishes he wore a cooler sweater (;
I wish Gavin had a cooler sweater!
You guys are too funny. I kinda liked the sweater.
Puna – Just ask him about the sweater if you want a laugh!
