January 7, Black Birds Blue Birds

These birds fly around in huge flocks and they just fascinate me. All I see is a sea of black when they fly by. But I look closer at this photo and I see they have blue necks. The husband says they are starlings. I find find them so interesting that I followed them in the car in the snow so I can get a closer photo of them in the field.
They are so neat aren’t they?
I really love the mood of this photo. It’s neat to look at the individual birds and their different positions–and then look at it as a whole. Love it!
