July 12, The Waiting Place

waiting

It was bloody hot yesterday at the girl’s horse meet. Horse and rider were patiently waiting.

Ella is asleep…

And in the eloquent words of Dr. Seuss.

“The Waiting Place…for people just waiting.

Waiting for a train to go or a bus to come, or a plane to go or the mail to come, or the rain to go or the phone to ring, or the snow to snow

or waiting around for a Yes or No or waiting for their hair to grow.

Everyone is just waiting.

Waiting for the fish to bite or waiting for wind to fly a kite or waiting around for Friday night or waiting,

perhaps,

for their Uncle Jake or a pot to boil, or a Better Break

or a string of pearls, or a pair of pants or a wig with curls, or Another Chance.

Everyone is just waiting.”

A perfect title/quote for this image! Oh, I am going to keep my eyes open for our Waiting Place photo moments! Poor thing, I remember how hot it would get under those hats!

beautiful shot. i’ve never been around horses much but i’ve always wanted to be. i keep telling my husband that we just need to sell everything and find a nice little horse spread somewhere. they are such beautiful animals and your girl looks beautifully at peace with them. what a sweet shot.

That’s all you can do, sometimes, is wait. The quote and picture are perfect together.

I like the wide angle feel of the shot. I hope she wasn’t waiting too long.

You learn such interesting things about yourself when you’re waiting. Someone I once knew didn’t have a constant inner dialogue…I couldn’t understand what she *did* when she was waiting for something!
