November 20, God You Are A Mystery

For a while now, we have been excited for Robbie Seay and his band to come visit our church and lead worship.
The experience was special becauseĀ it was less a concert but more true worship. I felt like he was my Arts Pastor, ministering to his congregation with his music. He’s not more gifted but just a little more famous:)
You must know who Robbie Seay is by now. His song was the featured song in a season of American Idol about three years ago. At least that’s how I heard of him – guilty. Or maybe you’ve heard of his song Shine Your Light on the tv show, One Tree Hill? No? I’ve never heard of the show but I love, love, love the song.
Or perhaps you are just a fan of wonderful, soulful, heart-felt, contemporary worship music. His album, Give Yourself Away remains one of my all time favorite albums and I can’t stop singing the song Let Your Faith Be Not Alone which he performed today.
And to top it all off, by all accounts, he’s a great guy. The boy told me after their conversation that he was so nice that he wanted to ask him to come home for dinner. I suppose I would have scared him away with really spicy Thai food so perhaps it’s for the best.
Another wonderful Sunday. Today’s worship experience was exactly what I needed. God you are certainly a mystery.

WOW…I would have loved to have been there to hear this. Must have been quite something!!

Besides Robbie’s obvious talent, I was impressed by what an amazingly genuine person he is. So glad he is a friend of Chesapeake.
