How many times do we tell our kids not to fight? How many altercations over a toy have we negotiated? We hope that those lessons will teach our kids to use their words, not their fists to settle disagreements.

And then we take them to hockey games where they are allowed to cheer as two grown men engage in fisticuffs while other grown men stand around and let it happen.

I’m sure I’m just being a prude once again but I really don’t understand this part of the game.
