Take Me Home

Take me home…

puppy2

Last week the husband and I took the boat across the bay to get work done on it. We were in the office when this little one came out to say hello.

puppy3

As it turns out, he was up for adoption. He is a pure-breed lab, one of two in the litter. And oh was he adorable! He’s seven weeks old.

puppy4

I wanted to take him home right then and there. He pulled at my heart strings big time. It was totally unfair.

puppy5

We left, then came back then left again…it was like leaving a child…well, maybe not but you get the idea.

puppy6

It’s been a week and I think I’m healed, but he still wants to go home with you. Pleeeeeaaaase…

I Love My Sister-In-Law

My sister-in-law Mary forwards me the funniest things. My brother-in-law died a couple of years ago. He had the driest sense of humor and I think that after 32 years of marriage, it’s rubbed off on Mary.

Here’s one she sent me.

twirl1

It goes without saying – I did not take this photo. This is a public service announcement to always twirl around in the mirror before leaving the house.

And here’s another one for you: As most of you know, the husband is an airline pilot. Though he doesn’t rap like this guy. Other airlines may have a reputation for being more “professional” but I know that if you fly a lot, this guy will take some of the boredom or fright out of the trip.

Have a happy Sunday.

The World Of Tomorrow

I’ve been over at JPG Magazine and I saw this today…It’s what fashion designers in the 30’s predicted we would wear in the year 2000. Men especially, take note:

I finally have a fashion post and I am linking over at Fifi Flowers who is more sophisticated than I can ever hope to be.

I am now waiting for some friends to come and we are going to cook and eat, eat, eat…

Happy weekend.

I want the Nikon D700. I thought if I said it out loud, it may happen.

My New Man

I want you all to know that I love my husband. But today, there’s a new man in my house. And he’s putting in my tile. The same tile that was sitting there since I wrote this post in February? Has it been that long? Since then the kids have been using the facilities in either the basement or waking us up at 5:30 am to take showers in our bathroom.

It can’t go on. I can’t go on.

kel2

I saw Kel at the 7th grade assembly yesterday and I said simply, “Kel I need you.” Bless his heart he had a concerned look on his face but he said, “Your tile isn’t done. I know, I talked to TJ yesterday.”

kel3

So now he’s here, right now. I love the sound of tile being moved around upstairs.

kel4

This is left over tile from our basement bathroom, I love the honey comb look.

And for today, Kel is my honey.

braces5

I almost forgot to post that two days ago, the boy underwent a life-changing procedure.

braces3

His braces were removed.

braces1

All I wanted to do was get a nice picture of the “after”.

braces2

And then there was this.

braces4

So four long years and $3700 later, he’s even more handsome.

Happy Love Thursday.

Boo Hoo The Dew

When I’m feeling frustrated, my creativity tends to be suppressed and the mountain of feelings become a bottle neck for its release. So therefore, I post a series with no words because my words may not accurately convey my feelings.

Sometimes I like to pretend I’m a writer, a photographer and a philosopher. A cross between Stevenson, Leibowitz and Voltaire. And then I wake up.

What am I frustrated about? My blog…I’m trying to self-host and get a new theme. I’m spending brain bytes on it that I could actually use solving other problems…I have a finite supply. It shouldn’t be this hard but so far I’ve found that my semester of differential equations was easier.

If I’m still wordless tomorrow, you’ll know that the drama continues…

Posted on Shutters Sisters about bokeh, not about frustration.
