I am quite excited about a trail that is being cleared behind my office building. When I need a break, I hope to find some cobweb clearing walks at lunch time – with my camera of course.
Happy Wednesday to everyone in blogland.
March 30, Intercession

The weeping cherry in the front yard continues to grow and mature each year. I don’t notice because the growth is so subtle and quiet. The small changes in blooms and in breath barely gather another glance as I drive in and out of my driveway multiple times daily.
There’s another reason I don’t take much note – I can’t do anything about it. Unlike the growth of the cherry tree, I can do something about the growth of my own kids, sometimes to their dismay. I continue to intercede in their lives, it’s my job. So if I ask the girl three times this morning about her make-up chemistry test, then so be it.
Oswald Chambers said almost the same thing in my devotional today, at least that’s my interpretation of it.
On another note -
I read a nice little tidbit last night on my friend’s blog, etley enlightens – and I sent it to the kids last night. In essence it says -
Just because people who love you put up with your flaws doesn’t mean they are appropriate or acceptable. You have an obligation to those around you.
For some reason they never text me back when I send them these tidbits of wisdom.
I hope you have a wonderful Friday and a great planned weekend. The start of spring for our neck of the woods is today – after school. We don’t have much planned – just little trips now and again. You know what I really want to do? I want to go to the zoo…I wonder if I can get any teens to go with me…
March 29, Make My Day

I was paid a nice compliment for my photography this morning. It was from someone who doesn’t come here often and it just made my day. Someone told me these were grape hyacinth so now I know the name of my favorite flower to photograph! So far so good…
Today marks the beginning of my three week long sabbatical from the gym. I usually take a week or so off every six months and I haven’t done it in a couple of years. I decided it was time to do so! I’ll spend those three weeks productively. I intend to do some continuation training, take other yoga classes and refresh my commitment to yoga.
Then I hope to go back and really work the class! Happy Thursday -
March 28, Chinese Lime

I wore opened toed shoes yesterday and as it turns out, it was not quite warm enough. It was in the high 40’s and I think I got too carried away with the whole idea of spring! Brrr!
It’s the middle of the week – it’s more than halfway over. Or the glass is halfway full. Whichever works for you today!
March 27, Purple Pluses

Every year I look forward to these beauties to pop up alongside of my front walk. They are tiny and bright. I have to squat down and get eye level with them to photograph their full magnificence.
I have a few more of these for later posting today – I just can’t stop with one photo…

I pledge to relax today. I won’t worry either – I’ll be like the Biblical lilies. I will not labor or spin. Sounds like a wonderful ambition to strive for on this wonderful Monday!
For Mosaic Monday.
March 25, Sunday Flower

It’s spring and it’s Sunday and the world cannot be more perfect because of it.
My trees are giving me a lot of reasons to celebrate! Such beauty springing up all over the place! Speaking of beauty…my girl is dressing up as we speak. Her equestrian banquet is tonight and I can’t wait to see her in her new dress and shoes. I’m such a girl. And I’m glad she is too…
I’ll be sure to post photos – you know I will! I’ll also be sure to let you know how much this little outfit cost me – I really try to be as prudent as I can when it comes to purchases for a single event like this one – but sometimes, I can’t help but indulge her a little bit. Just a little. Let’s just put it this way – it’s cheaper than a saddle.
March 24, The Spring Of Yellow

There isn’t a more brilliant, spring-like, and optimist color than yellow. Yellow is the most visible of all colors and it’s the one the eye notices first. It gets the most attention – the lines on the road are painted yellow, it’s not a coincidence. However, as with all things, there’s a down side. Yellow can also be over-stimulating and therefore an irritant to the eye. Babies cry more in yellow rooms and personal miscommunication (fights) between husbands and wives happen more in yellow rooms.
If you have a yellow office – repaint right now!
But taken in small doses and with less saturation, yellow can be cheerful – and fun – and that’s how I choose to look at it today!
March 23, Abiding In Him

It is the dull dreary day with common duties & people that kill the burning heart unless we’ve learned the secret of abiding in Jesus – Oswald Chambers
I took this photo this very morning and the quote above has been rattling around in my head since I read it a few days ago. When you start feeling the burden of the mundane, remember that joy is possible when you abide in Him – no matter your circumstances.
Have a happy weekend!

The blooms this spring are amazing – and I made the boy pull over while I photographed the neighbor’s cherry tree. The color was unusual – gorgeous even, one that I hadn’t seen yet. I will be showing you more and more this week while I wait for my own trees to find their own.
