iHeart Silly Dogs

It’s Stanley Cup Finals season and my family is crazy over Neighbor Doug’s team, the Anaheim Ducks. Alas, it’s over for the Ducks, they were roasted by the Nashville Predators last night.
Apparently our animals love competition as well. Here is the dog and Tuk Tuk racing in the snow. This week’s iHeartfaces theme “Pets” gave me a good excuse to post this again.

This week’s photo challenge at iHeartfaces gives me the perfect excuse to post this photo again. The theme is “Wind” and I just love this photo of my little girl. It’s on our living room wall as well.
I hope your weekend was wonderful and joyous.

Team Up Thursday ~ Direction

This week’s Team Up Thursday theme is “direction.”
I like to think I have a good sense of direction, but I think I would get lost on this road. Where are the signs? I love Kristina’s photo, it’s so barren and cold. It tells such a story and it makes one wonder what and where the ending might be.
It’s mysterious – it is.
And then there are those signs that perhaps leave you even more confused than before. Which way is the true way?
This shot is from a street sign at the National Cathedral in Washington DC.
What do you prefer, a sign that’s ambiguous or no sign at all?
Thanks for playing this week Kristina!

iHeartfaces ~ Shadow

I asked the kids to help me get a shadow photo today but the sun was playing hide and seek and the photo came out without hardly any contrast. The girl tried holding the camera and taking the photo but the sun went behind a cloud so she said, “I need another sandwich,” and she ran off. This was our only photo.
I used TRA’s Lith-E-Yum! black and white action and I liked it. I added a little vignette and voila! A black and white shadow photo is a little unusual but I’m glad to have taken a few minutes to play.

We Need Your Vote . . .

Actually, asking for your vote is a little tacky so I’m having the cat do it for me. He’s my campaign manager, and he’s a tough one.
You can vote for the best face of March at iHeartfaces.com. My entry is #168 but I only want your vote if you truly like my photo, there are so many great ones there.
The cat likes my photo . . . he says you have about 12 hours left to get your vote in.
Thanks for considering and if elected, I will ensure we have more soda choices in the cafeteria hallway.
iHeart Best Face

To be considered for this week’s challenge on iHeartfaces, the following must be met -
1. The photo must be taken in March.
2. The photo must have a face in it.
3. The photo must be tug-at-your-heart cute, must be a moment in time between mom and child, and must make you want to have another child just to capture the moment again for yourself.
Or rather, it must be two of the three. The above fits the bill for me.

Not Enough Fun

I took this photo of Austin for our staff directory. I then sent it to him and told him he may want to use it for a resume or something. He’ll get the job for sure. There was a staff meeting last week where we were asked to be discerning about how we dress as the weather turns warmer. Eyes turned toward Austin and since I was sitting next to him, I got a little paranoid so I asked, “Are you looking at Austin or at me?”
I was serious but everyone laughed.
I have been busy and I have been taking photos almost daily but I feel that my creativity has been a little lagging lately. I want to give myself a shot of energy but I’m not sure what I could do that without feeling like it’s another obligation.
So I will do nothing. I think that’s the best medicine.
The husband and kids are at yet another hockey game tonight. I volunteered to stay home because I wanted to put my new “do nothing” commitment into action. I looked through my photos this one makes me laugh. It’s been said that Austin couldn’t make it through airport security without beeping even after taking off his belt. I say that he’s the most fun guy in the room.
This photo edited with MCP Actions, a mixture of what is in Jodi’s Bag of Tricks. It makes editing portraits so much easier.
Off to do nothing now.

This is my entry for this week’s iHeart faces photo challenge for the theme “Slice Of Life.”
This is a little cafeteria area at my favorite Thai market. She is filling my order of fried bananas, a dessert that I’m absolutely crazy about.

iHeart Faces – Anything But A Face

I went to a concert last weekend. It was fantastic experience, the music, the dancing – the sixteen hormone induced teens with us.
I have a lot of photos but I thought I’d put this one up for consideration at iHeartfaces’ Anything But Faces challenge this week.
I saw the raised hands and turned my camera to the crowd.

Team Up Thursday ~ In The Distance

Kristina and I are playing today! She’s been so patient with me. After a couple weeks of feeling like a wrinkled old leftover burrito, I finally feel like a human again.
This week’s theme is in the distance. Kristina’s photo is of her trip to Las Vegas. It actually looks like Seattle to me but this is a great big country and I’m sure there’s more than one Space Needle. After all, there’s an Eiffel Tower in Vegas also.
My photo is of the beach in the winter, the snow, then the shells, then the water in the distance.
To see more TUT’s head over to the dynamic duo Megan and Melody.
