You Guessed It! And The Winner Is . . .
Lisa of goodknits.com! The answer of course is Mt. Shasta. Congratulations Lisa! You not only knit like a professional but your photos, oh my goodness gracious they are beautiful.
Since there were only six entries, I asked the boy to pick a number between 1 and 6 and he said 7. I should have expected nothing less. Anyway, you won on the redo.
Congratulations on winning this beautiful Martha Stewart chick dish from my basement. You can put gravy in it and put it in the oven. What can be better? I hope you enjoy it.
I’m going to revisit my knitting this winter. If it’s not too uncomfortable, send me an email and let me know what your snail mail is and I’ll send it tout suite!
What’s Out Your Window #4 ~ Giveaway

I am so remiss in posting this giveaway. I impulsively posted the above photo last Wednesday and asked that you guess what it was. Well you can still guess on this post.
Some hints:
1. It’s a mountain.
2. It’s not Mount St. Helen.
3. It’s not Mount Hood (sorry Charlane.)
4. It’s not Munt McKinley (sorry Barb.)
5. It’s a big mountain.
6. It’s in California.
7. It starts with “Sh.”
If you guess correctly, you will be entered to win this . . .

A Martha Stewart Chicken Dish.

I think it’s really cute.

Though I didn’t take a photo of it with it open, you can put jelly beans etc inside of it. The real beauty is that you can also put it in the oven and cook something in it.
That Martha is so smart. Imagine serving your favorite side dish in this for Thanksgiving dinner! Your family will be impressed.

I am a big Martha fan. I really admire her. She is much more than just a Diva of the Home. She’s a business woman, a creative woman, and an accomplished woman.

It was a travesty that all that energy and resources were put into jailing her for her insider trading indictment. Compared to all the other egregious trading practices out there, I say it was an injustice.
This dish was never used and you guessed it; it’s from my basement. Anyway, you can win the chicken if you guess correctly. Just leave a comment, a guess or whatever.
Here’s a few more hints.
8. Its name starts with “Sh” and ends with “a.”
9. Don’t feel badly if you don’t know off the top of your head. I never heard of it until the husband told me.
I’ll leave this up for a week or so. As I’m cleaning out my basement, your comments here may be my only fun for the next six months.

On this Wordless Wednesday, tell me where this is everyone! Anyone who guesses correctly will be entered to win a Martha Stewart Chicken. I don’t have a photo of it though … I’ll take one tonight.
Hints: It’s in the US. It’s not Mt Saint Helen. And it’s a mountain. I know the last hint wasn’t helpful.
Good luck!

Sorry for the delay! I’m blaming it on my kids. I have one sick at home and another that I think is sick but won’t stay home because she has a field hockey game this evening. What’s a mother to do?

But without further ado, the winner of the Hello Canvas, What’s Out Your Window giveaway is Shirley from Behind the Lens. That’s a $149 value!
Congratulations Shirley! Thank you for entering all three weeks as well as doing all the extra entries. It paid off!
And there’s more, as there always seems to be with my giveaways.
I wrote Hello Canvas and commented on how much Toni Johnson of Toni Johnson Studios wanted a canvas per the comments.
I suppose they read the comments too and already knew. Hello Canvas said no matter who was chosen as the winner, Toni would get one too. So Toni, you also get a 24×36 canvas courtesy of Hello Canvas. Woot!
If you left a link than you can purchase a Hello Canvas canvas at a 25% discount. Please contact me directly if you are interested in purchasing.
I’m blown away by Hello Canvas’s generosity as well as the quality of their product. What a great company. Did I mention that shipping is free? Well it is! Thank you once again for sponsoring this giveaway!

Here a photo of the beginning of my canvas project so far in my living room. I’m excited to finish it.
Congratulations to Shirley and Toni!
Bear With Me

Thank you those of you who participated in the Hello Canvas, What’s Out Your Window giveaway. I could have chosen a shorter name. I could have conducted a less complex giveaway. Or I could have not done it at all, which would be a shame for someone!
As it stands, it will take me a little time to go through the entries and make a determination of the winner. I want to make sure I honor each and every entry and not miss a thing.
So thank you for your patience. I hope to have a winner by Friday – at the very latest.
One More Day For The What’s Out Your Window Giveaway

Thank you to those of you who linked and made comments to this giveaway, courtesy of Hello Canvas. If you have a canvas by them already, as do I, you already know what a wonderful product they offer. And if you don’t have one, then you have one day left to enter for a chance to win one. A 24×36 canvas is the grand prize for the What’s Out Your Window contest. Click here or on the top photo in the sidebar to enter!
Thank you Hello Canvas for your generosity. What great opportunity for someone.

Miss Shannon asked me yesterday how big this canvas was. I told her 5 feet, but as it turns out it, it’s not. It’s a mere 50 inches wide so a little shorter than I thought but big enough to make me wonder what I was thinking when I measured and made the purchase.
In any case this Hello Canvas canvas was beautiful, albeit big. I’m a fan. If I were a professional photographer, I would not hesitate to put a client’s image on this and offer it as part of a package.

And I would not hesitate to give it away as a gift, as I did in this case.
Three years ago we adopted the cat from CAWL, a wonderful animal rescue organization in our area. We stopped in there one day out of curiosity and left with a cat. Never ever visit a rescue operation on a whim.

The cat was very afraid though a few years ago he was roaming the halls like he owned the place. And I never go anywhere without my Epiphanie bag.
As a thank you to them, we brought the huge canvas down and gave it to them to hang on the wall. While we were there we visited all the poor animals who still needed a home.

It breaks your heart.
They have since told us that they hung it up on the wall of the hallway that leads to the cat neutering room (ouch.)

I have not had a chance to get a photo of it on the wall but it’s in good company with the other canvases, like this cute painting here.

I love to see what’s out your window! And I love Hello Canvas for two reasons. They have a wonderful product and free, fast shipping. And … they will give away a free 24×36 professional canvas to the winner of the What’s Out Your Window contest!
If you participated in the Hello Canvas photo contest last August you know how wonderful and generous the Hello Canvas folks are. Their canvases are so beautiful that I have purchased four already. It’s my own personal testimony to their product. I really like it, I do. And they are willing to give away another one. Wonderful!
If you left a link on What’s Out Your Window #1, you are entered! That link up will be available until September 27.
If you link up a different view out your window on What’s Out Your Window #2, you will get a second entry! This link up will be available until next Monday, September 27.
A third What’s Out Your Window link up will start on Tuesday September 28 and you will have a third chance to win if you leave me a link up then!
The interpretation of what’s out your window is up to you. The wonderful Shirley left a link last week about what’s IN her window and I love it. Above is a photo out the husband’s work window. If you have a photo of a window…well that will work too.
The great part about linking up is that you will get double entries. Three different link ups over three weeks will give you six chances to win!
How to get social networking to get more entries. Each is worth one entry.
1. Please be my friend:) on Facebook. Hit the like button on my the Facebook block in my sidebar. Then share the post about the Hello Canvas giveaway. It is where I’ll post about other giveaways.
2. Follow Hello Canvas on Twitter and tweet about the giveaway.
Please leave me separate comments about each social networking action below on any of the What’s Out Your Window posts…
Though the husband will NOT be eligible to win, his office window is quite cool.
Thanks for considering and good luck to you!

Thank you for playing What’s Out Your Window last week! We’re going to play again this week but there’s more …
If you leave a link you will be entered to win a prize. If you entered a link last week, you will have two chances to win. If you leave a link next week, you will have three chances to win!
What’s the prize? I’ll tell you next week for the last part of the series. It may be something fantastic or it may be something from my basement. In any case, it’s the fun of it that counts!
The above photo was taken out my neighbor’s living room window. Hymns were being sung for him and the window was open so he can hear their voices. It was one of the most touching and spiritually moving moments that I have ever witnessed.
So show us what’s out your window and link up!
A New Fitness Beginning
September 17, 2010 by Puna

I have been really disappointed in myself this summer as far as my fitness regiment goes. I fell of the fitness wagon and really didn’t do much over the summer for my physical health and well being. Then I came down with a very bad case of sinus infection and I used that as an excuse not to work out. Don’t get me wrong, I wasn’t totally negligent. I continued to teach my yoga class and I did walk the dog (slowly) every morning.
But I didn’t do any cardiovascular exercise and I didn’t ever elevate my heart rate to the point where I would burn fat, the kind one gets from eating too many Reeses Peanut Butter Cups. Guilty as charged. As a result, I have gain some weight. I would tell you how much except that I don’t know the exact amount. I won’t get on the scale. I do know – like most women know – that I don’t feel good, my clothes don’t fit well, and for some reason, I’m swelling in all the wrong places. A bathing suit? Fuggetaboutit. I had to coach the boy’s soccer team last weekend and I was very embarrassed to put on shorts. When I don’t exercise, my legs look like stumps.
Above is a photo of the ladies who were in a spin class I took back in August. The class is taught by my friend and co-worker, Miss Robin. This class begins at 5:30 am – that’s 5:30 in the morning. My yoga class starts at 7 am so I thought I would go to this class then teach afterward. Best laid plans and famous last words and all those other cliches apply.
I was getting over my sickness and I made it exactly 12 minutes before I had to hop off my bike and run to the locker room to throw up. I coughed violently for 15 minutes and laid down for another 30 minutes on the bench in the locker room before I could function again. I don’t know what the other ladies in the locker room thought of the episode but I was hoping no one called the paramedics.
And I was hoping they didn’t know I was an instructor there. Very embarrassing.
But I now am making a new commitment to my body. I’ve done cardio three days – that’s three days – in a row. I’ve been to Miss Robin’s class twice this week and didn’t throw up once. It’s a major victory.
It’s Friday and I’m exhausted from running my kids around and fighting the school grades fight. But I am determined to run this morning. Right after I post this … yeah … going now …
