I like use Photoshop actions to edit my photos at times and there are some I use over and over again. However, I still do experiment quite a bit and there is a plethora of wonderful inspiration on the web to draw from.

The calendar I have at work is wrought with misspellings. Can you spot it here? I think it’s amusing that I have to double check the date on my computer to make sure I’m actually on the correct day.

January 24, Marachino Cherries

We had a little ice storm last week that didn’t last very long but left the world covered in beautiful crystals. At least it was so in my yard.

I placed this texture by Kim Klassen on my ice photo and it made it pop. She’s amazing!

Team Up Thursday ~ Black & White

Kristina and I are playing this week with – well can you guess the theme?

I love that little puppy of hers! Black dogs are very difficult to photograph and she did a lovely job with the lighting in particular. I think I see Kristina in the puppy’s eyes. So cute!

I wanted to showcase how gray and cold it’s been here lately so I aimed my camera at the jungle of desolate and naked trees and snapped away. Then I made it even more stark by running TRA’s In Faux Red black and white action.

So we have soft and cute/cold and desolate. Quite the contrast. Thanks Kristina!

January 19, Coming Or Going?

Black dogs are very difficult to photograph. Willow is all black except for a little bit of white on her chest and face. So on this Wordless Wednesday, tell me dear bloggers, is she coming or going?

On some days, I don’t know.

January 14, State House

I don’t believe this home is an official state house but it’s stands stately on its own. This collection of homes that were showcased here in the last couple of weeks are a part of the neighborhood of grand homes that surrounds my Alma mater. There are dozens of them they are an indication of a time gone by. I wonder who lived in those homes and why they moved away for most of these homes are now used for another purpose like law offices and doctor offices as well as administrative buildings for the university.

Is it because of a mass exodus or did families move out one by one. Did they find other homes elsewhere or was it because they fell on hard times? Though some are neglected, I am glad they still stand as an ode to history.

Team Up Thursday ~ In A Row

Kristina and I are back on track this week for Team Up Thursday. The theme is “All In A Row.”

Kristina sent this wonderful photo of fresh color. It’s a perfect break from the winter grays and white. It reminds me that spring is possible!

We are slowly taking down our Christmas decorations and these cute little guys were ornaments purchased from Germany many years ago. I adore them still. And I love that little expression on his face. Look who’s behind you!

It’s just a little smile but she’s hamming it up so much that it carries a big punch. I shot some photos of Little Sami and her twin brothers for Christmas and it was the most fun I had in a while.

She’s gonna be a heart breaker this little one is . . .
